Deputy Premier and Minister ofInfrastructure, Housing, Planning, and Development, Hon. Sean Astwood, recentlyled an official visit to South Caicos, touring key government projects anddiscussing plans for future development. The team visited sites includingMarjorie Basden High School, Iris Stubbs Primary School, the Government OfficeComplex, and hurricane shelters. They also reviewed plans for upgrades to theCommunity Center, Government Clinic, Regatta Village, Wellness Center, Wharf,and Public Library.
Hon. Astwood emphasized the government’scommitment to improving infrastructure and working conditions for residents,students, and civil servants in South Caicos. He assured that projects underthe Development Fund are a priority and highlighted the Public WorksDepartment’s efforts to create better facilities and public services.
Calling for patience from South Caicosresidents, Astwood affirmed that the Ministry is aggressively advancing newcapital projects while ensuring the timely completion of ongoing works. Theseefforts aim to enhance public spaces, improve access to essential services, andsupport the overall well-being of the community.
